Description

Very nice Luscombe 8A Silvaire S/N 1186, built 1940.
Certainly the best two-seats classic taildrager.
Very pleasant to fly.
Completely restored in 1997. Won “Best Vintage Aircraft”, and “Best Restoration” trophies at the PFA (now LAA) Rally. I have photos of the restoration process
Featured on the front cover of Today's Pilot Magazine of October 2010 and described as a 'Vintage Hot Ship'. The 8-page article has numerous lovely photos of G-AFZN in flight, (though oddly, the words describe a different plane). The aircraft is a delight to fly and is in outstanding condition
TTA 4270hrs, (580 hrs since total rebuild). Continental A65 uprated to 75HP, 1250 hrs since major overhaul. History back to 1941
Recent new batteries
The cockpit is neatly furnished and comfortable.
